e-Learning

FP Moodle e-learning

The Foundation Programme offers a series of e-learning modules addressing various outcomes of the FP Curriculum. These modules may be accessed by logging into the FP Moodle backend from the login area in the upper right hand corner of this webpage.

All Foundation doctors are given access to FP Moodle. If you have any difficulty with access please contact the Foundation School Office.

Learning in Foundation Training by Turas learn

Each Foundation trainee is provided with a learning e-portfolio. The Malta Foundation Programme uses Turas e-portfolio by NHS Education for Scotland, which hosts this e-learning platform.

Learning IFoundation Training (LIFT)  is a resource specifically maintained Foundation trainees. It is available to enhance the ability of any trainee to demonstrate that they have covered 100% of the Foundation curriculum.

The learning modules are currently being updated to conform to current knowledge and standards, this process will mean modules will become available as soon as they have been updated.

LIFT modules are linked to the Turas portfolio and completion of any LIFT modules can be linked to the relevant domains of the curriculum.

TheSynapse e-learning

January 2020 saw the launch of a complete revamp of TheSynapse online services. This was the fruit of a yearlong exercise where we wanted to put TheSynapse on an even greater professional level that it has been for the past twenty three years.

TheSynapse network now has two distinct and interlinked portals, thesynapse.net is dedicated to providing users with news and resources from many sources. To put it in a nutshell, we scan and go through loads of news items and publish succinct, relevant and timely news.

Both the Malta College of Family Doctors and the Medical Association of Malta provide accreditation of these sessions.

The aim of CME30.EU is to give the opportunity for each and every medical professional to keep up to date by participating in Continuing Medical Education sessions, delivered by some of the best local peers and can do so in their own space at their own pace.

TheSynapse is made up of an enthusiastic team each with diverse expertise, skills and passion and all working selflessly and dedicated to delivering an outstanding service. The work involved is huge but greatly satisfying. TheSynapse team welcomes anyone who would want to join in making this a great resource for medical professionals. In particular there TheSynapse welcome colleagues who are interested in participating as peer reviewers for the content to ensure it is always of a very high and up to internationally recognised standards.
